Sight Word Practice

I am very fortunate to have kids that like school work.  In our house, they call it "playing school".  Today, while my younger boys were napping, my oldest asked me if he could "play school" while the other were asleep.  Who is going to say no to that?

Sight Word Practice

I was surprised today because my oldest usually will pick any math activity before any language or reading one.  Today, he chose to work on his sight words.  I didn't question his choice, but I was delighted on the inside.  I created this resource several weeks ago and had it on hand thinking that there would have to be some coercion involved.  I sat back and let him get to work.  When he was finished I asked him why he chose to work on the sight word activity and he told me that he liked that he was writing, cutting, and coloring.  He hit the nail on the head...when I created this resource I wanted it to be versatile and offer different activities (trace, write, color, find, build, read) for each sight word.  Another win for mom!
